Week 6 – Clicks!

Am I crazy?

at 65 going on 66 to begin a new career in the health coaching field?  And in the way of the universe, I just happened to find this on my Facebook page.  Well, ask and you will get an answer.  Just love this photo.

We didn’t have a new module this week and I truly wondered what I would do with myself.  I have settled into the routine of getting the new work on Monday and then fitting in my extra curricular activities around my learning time.  What would I do?  Maybe I will start my review for the first big test that comes at the end of March.  Good idea!

I started right back at the beginning with Orientation and the Fundamentals.  I was absolutely delighted to find that my retention was better than I thought it would be and that so much of the information has stuck with me.  It is all familiar now and not a strange new land.  It makes sense and it is comfortable.  I think this health coaching will stick with me.  I have become braver this week, more comfortable telling people who ask, what I am doing and why I am doing it.  It is nice to have people ask and I like to hear their stories too.  Yes, when I tell them about health coaching I get to hear their stories.

photo 2As I have mentioned before, Primary Foods are very important and I was so lucky this week to be able to focus on Relationships.  Good friends, Bev and Phil Reynolds, showed up from Maine and we were able to spend some time with them and walk on the beach with our dogs.  We had so much fun catching up and are so glad they seem to love this part of the world.

photo 1In addition to Bev and Phil, two of my favorite cousins, Pat and Norman Webster, came for lunch and to spend some time with us having a look around where we live. They live near us in Canada and have been curious about why we like to come south in the winter.  We had an opportunity to show them around our southern home and to enjoy a lovely lunch at the club.  If you love gardens, Pat has a wonderful website and blog Site and In-sight.  Her pictures are beautiful.

My honey and I continue to explore the world of juicing.  We both are feeling great and seem to have lots more energy.  We are really just adding this in to our daily intake of food but it is definitely crowding out our desire to eat miscellaneous foods.  Here is a picture of the before and after of juicing:

These are the vegetables and the one fruit for honey’s mean green juice.  That is a large collander by the way and it is full of green things plus some apple.

Here’s what we got out of all those vegetables and fruit.  What a great way to get all those vitamins and nutrients.

Not saying that we are going to do more than we are doing but am interested in this little experiment.  I love beets and it is a lot easier to juice one than it is to cook one.  Who knew?

Next week we are back with a new module on Monday.  I have enjoyed my week off and am looking forward to learning more and to continuing my review.  I said in my post on Facebook, I love the field and I do believe I can contribute as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach.  We shall see what the future has in store but so far it is pretty darn good.

Have a great week!
