This was a week where my course work and lessons intersected with my life in very profound and moving ways. Synchronicity. Not only was I studying this week but it was also the first week of the Hay House World Summit 2015. Many of the speakers at the Summit are the same ones that lecture at IIN. The overlap is amazing and yet it isn’t. It is all part of the plan.
Our first two lectures were by Bernie Siegel, MD. He brought such humor into a very serious subject regarding illness and recovery and dying. Bernie focused on loving the life that we are living and how our thoughts affect the health of our bodies. He says to keep moving and to keep things in your life that really matter to you and that will keep you young. “Don’t let the child in you die”. He brought so much humor to his presentations that I found myself laughing out loud as I listened to him. He is an entertaining speaker and certainly knowledgeable. I was fascinated with his methodology of having people draw themselves as part of his diagnoses and treatment and how he interprets those drawings. He had many, many stories of how this works. We moved on to our next lecture which was by Katherine Royal MacKinnon who is an expert in Feng Shui. I have dabbled in Feng Shui and read a fair amount about the subject. I believe it has a place in our lives and I like it as a philosophy. Some of it is just plain common sense but truly you can change the energy of a home just by moving some things around or clearing out the clutter. I know because I have experimented with it myself. This week some amazing things happened at my daughter Katie’s house and I believe it all started with my sister changing the energy in her house and this caused us to change the way we looked at things. A shift took place and all of the repairs that needed to take place actually happened within hours of each other. When something is right, it happens and you don’t have to fight for it you just let it happen.
Here are a couple of tips: If you are looking for love in your life, put two and only two roses in your bedroom. If you are looking for health clear the clutter in your house and pay attention to the air flow in your home. If you are looking for more money, keep the toilet lid down and fix any leaks in your home. You don’t want your finances to go down the drain – literally. Speaking of “shift” that is the title of a movie that John and I both watched this week as part of the Hay House World Summit 2015. Here is a link to the movie The Shift . You will need to enter your first name and email address to watch it but it is free and you can watch as many times as you like. You see how things were beginning to overlap with each other.
The second part of our course this week focused on the Importance of Communication and how our roles as Health Coaches can be so supportive of self-healing in our clients.
In the middle of the week the mother of a dear friend of ours died rather suddenly. She was 95 years young and while it is not a surprise if someone that age dies it is a surprise when it happens so quickly. John and I knew we needed to go to be with the family to celebrate her life. Once again, everything fell into place and we drove to Delray Beach and back, a trip of 1009 miles, with ease and joy. We had a wonderful trip down exploring a few places that we had never been to before. Again, things just happened at the right time and the right place. We found places to stop for meals that were exactly what we were looking for. One of the places was in Ponte Vedra and it turned out that our daughter had been there two years before and knew it well. We just lucked upon it and it wasn’t in an obvious place at all. It was wonderful to be with the family and we feel very lucky to have known Jean and her family for as long as we have.
We returned to Dataw Saturday evening because there were two important events at our church on Sunday. One was an all parish meeting about the future of the church, the other a family gathering and baby shower for a wonderful couple, Liz and Paula, who are expecting their first baby in August. However, the most amazing thing was the sermon. Our vicar spoke about the Dragon Kite of the Autumn Moon and how the story was about a little boy whose grandfather was very ill and unable to make him a kite for their annual kite flying festival. The result was the young boy had to use his very special kite that his grandfather had made when he was born. Part of the kite flying was that at the end you had to let go of the kite and let it soar. He did just that and when he returned home his grandfather was well again. Letting go of things that you think are important in your life often leaves room for more important things to enter your life.
It was a week of events of synchronicity and I can’t help feeling that they were all strong messages that I am on the right track. I have to admit to feeling some doubt before this week began. Not surprising after 18 weeks of focusing on the course and the changes that it is bringing into my life but also there is another shift about to take place. It is my birthday this week and we are heading back north again at the end of the month. Our lives are very different when we are up north. We have lots of family around and our granddaughter comes to live with us for the summer. This is change but it is good change and I am ready for it.
So Happy Birthday to me. I will celebrate with good friends and toast all of my family and friends who are not with me but who I think about often.
Have a wonderful week.
