It was a busy week and it flew by. We drove back from Asheville on Tuesday and Wednesday. Easy easy trip with little or no traffic. We did a long first day of 10 hours and made it to Scranton. PA. This set us up for a much shorter day on Wednesday of 6 1/2 hours. Somehow it feels better to make it in a day and a half rather than two full days but we were still rather tired when we got home. Not as young as we used to be!
Thursday was grooming day for our two dogs. We go for the puppy cut as they spend most of the summer in the water and this way they dry out faster and hopefully avoid hot spots. Percy, Jack’s dog needed to have some nasty mats removed from under his ears and our wonderful groomer agreed to give it a try at 7:45am the next day so two days in a row I was up early and driving to the groomers. We weren’t sure how Percy would react to the clippers but it turned out he was just fine.
Here he is with Amy.
Graduation
After 8 very intense weeks Jack graduated from the Fire Academy. He is a fully qualified Firefighter Level Two and EMT and ready to take on a full-time job as a firefighter. We are all so very proud of him and can’t wait to see where he goes from here.
Gardens
The girls gave me a gift certificate to our local garden center for my birthday so this weekend we went shopping and found some fun and interesting plants. John got to spread mulch for the second weekend in a row, Jack was home to dig the holes for the bigger bushes and trees. Two lovely magnolias and a mock orange. Things are looking up at Jenny Lane.
Heading to Canada
We leave here for our Lakeside Cottage this week. I’m sure the dogs will be happy to be there right by the water. My favorite tenant sent this today to remind me what it looks like up there. We will go back and forth some but will be there for two months. Family coming and going so lots going on.
